7 C's timeline poster question
The poster has Darius ruling before Belshazzar. Since Daniel 5:30-31 says Darius took Belshazzar's kingdom after he was slain, is there another reason for placing Darius before Belshazzar?
Joseph,
During the time period in question, there was much shifting of power as empires rose and fell. Northern Israel was taken into captivity by Assyria in 721 BC. Then Babylon rose in power and conquered Assyria. Under the rule of Nebuchadnezzar, Babylon captured southern Judah in phases, beginning in 607 BC and completing Jerusalem’s destruction in 588 BC. Belshazzar, the next Babylonian king described in the biblical account (Daniel 5), began to rule in 555 BC. About five years earlier, in 560 BC, Darius had risen to power in Media, another world power at the time. Meanwhile, Cyrus began to rule the Persian Empire, which conquered Darius’ Median Empire. This merge of powers gave rise to the Medo-Persian Empire. Cyrus went on to conquer Babylon in 538 BC, killing Belshazzar and handing his region over to Darius, who had previously been the king of the Medes. This is why Daniel refers to him as Darius the Mede (Daniel 5:31, 11:1).
The 7 C’s of History timeline places Darius becoming king of Media prior to Belshazzar becoming king of Babylon, but Darius did not rule in Babylon until the Medo-Persian Empire conquered Belshazzar’s kingdom in 538 BC.
I hope that clarifies the information on the poster for you.
Blessings,
Roger
How to Check Tools version
How do I check EXACTLY what version of Digital Tools I have? I upgraded yesterday but do not see any obvious difference to the content?
Hi Pastor Ben,
With your upgrade, you unlocked the Plus elements of Digital Tools. Now that you've upgraded, you won't see any future prompts to do so on your page.
When you upgrade to Digital Tools Plus, it unlocks the ability to track attendance for students and volunteers, invite others to help run your VBS, download all your user data, and customize your registration pages, forms and emails.
If you hadn't upgraded to Plus, you would still see a "Upgrade to Plus" card on your dashboard, like so:
Also, any links to features that are Plus-exclusive will be grayed out and/or prompt you to upgrade when clicked. Examples:
Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Blessings,
Arthur
Where's the Adult Lesson 20 of Unit 2?
There is no Lesson 20 for the Adults in Unit 2. I apparently have one of the 4 videos from another lesson, but I need the other 3 videos and the powerpoint download. Where can I find them?
Is there an order form for supplies on this website for VBS?
Are we able to get a file for the logo used on the Everybody t-shirt? It is a one color version of the Incredible Race Logo
404-Page Not Found
Almost all of the links on my director page lead to "Error 404-Page Not Found". How do we fix this?
Can I schedule a rotation to occur at the same time for all teams?
I would like all my teams to break for snack at the same time. Can I adjust or set up the rotation schedule to accommodate this through my account?
Individual daily challenges
Where can I find the "individual daily contest" take home papers? I have searched all the digital resources and can't find them anywhere!!
Hi Chris -- they are available to download from here -- https://answersingenesis.org/vbs/2019/resources/ (check the Additional Information for Kids sections).
How can I prevent anyone who is not designated Director from deleting a registration? We don't want our Coordinators to have the ability to do that accidentally.
We would like to invite coordinators for music, prayer and other tasks to access the tool for items specific to their role. We would love to be able to limit what they can view -- specifically detailed registration information for each child. If there is no way to limit that, we would want to make sure that none of our volunteers could inadvertently delete a registration before we would either be comfortable sharing the tool with volunteers or using the tool to handle registrations. Would it be possible to restrict the ability to delete registrations to specific roles, such as Director? Is it possible that a feature enhancement allowing that would come before churches would begin registrations for 2019 VBS?
