Excel download problem

nancyo 8 years ago updated by Brad B. (Answers in Genesis - Web Development) 8 years ago 3

We are testing our online registration. I have four test students registered. When I tested the excel download I see that several of our fields are not appearing in the spreadsheet (ie. street, birthdate, etc.), several are appearing under the wrong column headings (state, zip, phone) and some column headings are appearing that I deleted. Also, one person who helped "test register" said that the birthday calendar was "glitchy" and she didn't have a "submit" button when she attempted to register a second child (that child doesn't appear in our registered list)

When will the VBS Director be available for Camp Kilimanjaro?

Our 2017 VBS begins on June 5th. The VBS Director with online registration is a critical part of our VBS with over 100 students.

Adult/Teen Registration

Tracy 8 years ago updated by Jim S. (Answers in Genesis - Director of IT Operations) 7 years ago 2

Please consider adding a simple registration form for the teen & adult classes as well - name, address, and contact information would be helpful.

Answer

I pulled this part of your comment into a new thread to make it easier for other people to find and comment on it. Other comments will help us gauge how many people would find a feature like this useful.

You can add "adult" and "teen" age groups to the participant registration form. Of course, this still isn't ideal as you need a lot more information about children than you do for adults.

I have passed your idea on to the team for consideration. At this point, I think it is unlikely that we'll be able to get a feature like this completed for this year.

How can I edit the registration confirmation message?

danamorris 8 years ago updated by Arthur L. (Answers in Genesis - Business Analyst) 8 years ago 1
Answer

Click the Promote tab, then click Edit Student Welcome Email and/or Edit Volunteer Welcome Email to edit the message that sends upon registration.

Answer

You could rename the age groups to be something like "Entering 1st Grade," "Entering 2nd Grade," and so forth. That would be done from the "Age Groups" page in the settings section.

Another option would be to include a message on the form. This would be done from the "Forms" page in the settings section. You can create a new field on the student form labeled something like "Note to parents." You would want to define it as a "Display Only Text" field type, and enter your message in the content box. Once created, you can move it to just above the age group field.

video embed

Can you provide the embed code for the VBS video? We'd like to post it on our various media channels separate from the public page.

Answer

We have that video available on YouTube. You can embed the video from there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQNvokvEoBw

Is there an option to attached additional form for parents to sign-off on? i.e. health forms or permission forms? would be great to have this functionality. thanks.

Answer

We don't support attachments, but if you put the documents on a publicly accessible place on the internet you can link to them.

On the Promote page, there is an :Edit Student Welcome Email" button. Click that to edit the message that appears in the email and the "Thank You" page that appears following registration. If you put full links (including the http:// or https://) in your message they will appear as clickable links.

Registration page - Registration button

AngelaLarson 8 years ago updated by Arthur L. (Answers in Genesis - Business Analyst) 8 years ago 1

I have had more than one person say they can't access the registration page however I think it may be the registration button. Is there any way to make it "idiot proof"? You know like adding a "'click here to register" phrase or something. I am thinking they may not realize it is a button.

Answer

Thanks for your feedback, we've passed it on to the design team to look into making the registration button more prominent on the public page.

Also, if you add /register/ to the end of your public page URL you can give people links directly to the registration form.

Public webpage url

nancyo 8 years ago updated by Brad B. (Answers in Genesis - Web Development) 8 years ago 5

When I try to test my public webpage URL, I get a redirect to a director checklist page...not the public webpage. hillcrestjamestown.myanswers.com/vbs/

Answer

The bug that prevented public pages named "vbs" from working has been corrected.

can i add a pdf to the registration form?

anny walker 8 years ago updated 8 years ago 3

I would like to add a PDF of our registration information packet for parents to print after they register; either to the reg form or to the student reg confirmation email. Is this possible?

Answer

I have good news. We discussed this, and have implemented a way for you to include hyperlinks in the "Thank You" pages and emails.

If you include a full link in the text of the student or volunteer email (starting with http:// or https://) it will now be turned into a clickable link on the confirmation page and email.
