Why is screen 404 appearing everytime I try to access VBS items

lanaj549 4 years ago updated by Arthur L. (Answers in Genesis - Business Analyst) 4 years ago 2
Answer

Hi Lana,

The checklist assumes that there is a digital library for Incrediworld, but since there isn't (the theme was originally produced in 2012 and brought back for the Free COVID-19 Edition), certain checklist links will 404.

Instead, the downloads are available here: https://answersingenesis.org/vbs/incrediworld2020/downloads/.

Please also see this page for additional information for leaders and parents: https://answersingenesis.org/vbs/incrediworld2020/resources/

Please let me know if you have any more questions or issues!

Will we able to include holidays?

A Burns 4 years ago updated by Arthur L. (Answers in Genesis - Business Analyst) 4 years ago 1

Just starting to think ahead and planning this coming year.  Will we be able to include the Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter lessons into the schedule for our teachers?

Answer

While we don't currently support full integration with the free seasonal lessons, we do support postponing lessons, so you can skip a week or two in your schedule to accommodate them. We'd like to better integrate the seasonal lessons eventually, but it's lower down on our list of things to add and improve with ABC Digital.

Please let me know if you have any more questions!

Schedule Teacher to Specific Date

Chelsea 4 years ago updated by Arthur L. (Answers in Genesis - Business Analyst) 4 years ago 1

Hello,

I was going to make a separate schedule for teachers to know when they teach and then I thought it would be easier if this was all in one location.  We have multiple teachers on a rotation for one class.  Could ABC digital assign teachers to specific dates?

Thank you

Answer

Hi Chelsea,

You can assign multiple teachers to a class, but they will all have equal access to the class. If you want to only have one teacher for each lesson, I'd recommend using the substitute feature. That way, you don't have any teachers set by default and you can manually add them for each lesson.

Please see the knowledge base for more information: https://myanswers.userecho.com/knowledge-bases/42-abc-digital-early-access.

Highlight function

Chelsea 4 years ago updated by Arthur L. (Answers in Genesis - Business Analyst) 4 years ago 1

Hello,

Our church loves this digital version especially during COVID.  I saw a highlight feature in the right column of the lesson, but not sure how it is used.   Could you explain it's function.  It would be great to use this for areas of concentration in the lesson or a marker of where you left off if the teacher wasn't able to complete the lesson.

Thank you

Answer

Hi Chelsea,

The highlight feature was designed for active use on a mobile device, such as helping a teacher keep their place during a lesson. The highlights are temporary and do not save to the lesson, and they do not show up when printing.

To highlight text, click the highlight icon so it turns yellow, then click on the text you wish to highlight.

Please let me know if you have any more questions or issues!

Teacher resources question

Joshua 4 years ago updated by Arthur L. (Answers in Genesis - Business Analyst) 4 years ago 3

Dear AiG,

Hello good afternoon. My name is Joshua Stokes and I am missionary serving overseas. I recently purchased the Adults Answers curriculum units 4&5. With the first 3 units I was able to access and download the teacher's lessons pdf files, but  now when I enter the access code the teacher's lessons don't  appear. Only a few of the supplemental files appear, and the video files don't appear to be in the file folder. Is there any way that I could get the pdf files to the teacher's lessons for units 4 and 5? I would really appreciate it.

In Christ,

Joshua Stokes

Answer

Hi Joshua,

Please also see the main ABC resources page here: https://myanswers.com/edu/resources/.

It looks like the KJV video and audio content can be accessed from the sidebar in the lessons. We don't yet have the KJV lesson content imported into ABC Digital, but the music and video files have made it over.

I apologize for the confusion—I had to do some digging myself to figure this out! Please let me know if you have any more questions or encounter any further issues.

Blessings,

Arthur

Answer

Hello,

We will be adding the option to download full lesson content on or before the full release of ABC Digital. But for now, please visit our old Resources page at https://myanswers.com/edu/resources/v1/

Once the files are downloaded, you can copy or move the files to the usb drive. If the folder is zipped, you can extract the files to the usb drive as well. Please reach out to us with further issues or questions.

Blessings,

PDFs: large font resulting in 50-page print-outs

Hannah at NWCC 4 years ago updated by Arthur L. (Answers in Genesis - Business Analyst) 4 years ago 2

One point of feedback is that although the lessons are easily accessed on a phone or tablet (including links to resources, which is a nice feature), when a lesson is selected for printing, PDF or direct to printer, the font sizes are quite large. This results in each lesson requiring about 50 single-sided pages. Also, if printed to a PDF, there are no document margins, which makes the PDF more difficult to work with.

If you are teaching directly from the ABC lesson, with no modifications, then this may be a good option for those with the ability to use their phone. I prefer to use the scanned lessons on my iPad where I can mark up the lessons with my Apple Pencil, insert pages, highlight, etc. This helps me to organize my thoughts and to stay on track while teaching. Is there a way to reformat the PDFs to make them easier to work with when prepping for a lesson?

Answer

Hello Hannah,

I checked on your ABC Digital classes and saw your Grades 4-5 and PreK-1 classes are currently on Unit 6, Lesson 58. Provided that is correct, I have included the current and next unit's Teacher guide PDFs for your use. If you need any more files, please let me know!

Grades 4-5 Units 6-7 Teacher guides:

16-1-121_U6_G4-5_Teacher.pdf
16-2-121_U7_G4-5_Teacher.pdf

PreK-1 Units 6-7 Teacher guides:

16-1-101_U6_PreK-1_Teacher.pdf
16-2-101_U7_PreK-G1_Teacher.pdf

We will be adding the Teacher Guide Unit PDF in lesson 1 of each unit. Units 14 and onward will have them, and we will be going back and adding them to Units 1-13 as well.

Blessings,

Arthur

Answer

Hi Terre,

Actually, the answer to your question is yes on both counts. It will be sold as a subscription service, but you will retain access to all the lessons you have unlocked so long as your subscription remains active.

Also, we will be listening to the feedback and expanding the access scope to ten lessons instead of five. Between that and not revoking access to past lessons, we'll be providing a lot more flexibility with the access model. I don't have a time frame for these updates to share, but definitely before ABC Digital leaves early access. Thanks for your feedback!

new director can't access lesson downloads/materials

Ross 4 years ago updated by Arthur L. (Answers in Genesis - Business Analyst) 4 years ago 2

I added a new director but they can't download the material for the class lessons. Is there another step I am missing? I had them log out and back in as well as clear their chrome browser cache.

side note: I absolutely LOVE ABC digital. Please keep up the good work and let us know if there are other ways we can help!

Answer

Hi Ross,

This has been fixed! I just checked on your classes and confirmed that your second director can now download the resources.

Please let us know if you run into any more issues!
