The html code for our embedded countdown is not working.

Alan 4 years ago updated by Arthur L. (Answers in Genesis - Business Analyst) 4 years ago 1

The html code for our embedded countdown is not working. Could we get a new one?

Answer

Hi Alan,

No, that's not possible, as the code behind the countdown is the same for every VBS event. Also, I checked on your timer and confirmed it is working. There is a live example on this page: https://myanswers.com/vbs/manage/13667/promotion-tools/.

If you are using a template-based website, please make sure to enable HTML and JavaScript in the module, otherwise, the code may be blocked from performing properly. There is often a button you can press to insert HTML code or otherwise turn on advanced editing. If you can't figure it out, your website provider should have support documentation to further assist you.

Arthur

I am getting this error when trying to access my VBS Digital resources. All of the resources are doing this.

Answer

Hi Cory,

Please check now! I believe I figured out and resolved the access issues with your event's digital library.

Thanks,

Arthur

Answer

Hi Vicki,

Unfortunately, we don't yet have that functionality for VBS Digital, just ABC Digital. We do have plans to add share links to VBS Digital, but those were delayed due to the COVID-19 reduction in staff. For now, you can invite the volunteers you want to send resources to as Teacher coordinators. They will only be able to access the digital library, none of the other online components of the VBS.

Please let me know if you have any more questions or issues!

My volunteer form has a question that is not showing up on the form but has a blank fill in spot...help?

Jessie Wilemon 4 years ago updated by Arthur L. (Answers in Genesis - Business Analyst) 4 years ago 6

My Volunteer form, has a question I created that should have a long fill in text field.  When I preview it has the long fill in box with no question.  Below you will see in the editor the question, then the preview screen below that.

Also on the Volunteer form we are making ours like a backyard VBS and so due to our current times we are making the groups in each neighborhood be small and non age specific.  Well that is a default question in the form so I deleted the options but the question doesn't go away.  Its just floating text.  How do I fix that?

Thank you,

How do I give my music teacher access to the digital resources?

Lisa Borden 4 years ago updated by Benjamin S. (Answers in Genesis - Web Support Analyst) 3 months ago 3

How do I give my music teacher and sound director access to the music resources?

Answer

Hi Lisa,

Simply invite them to be coordinators for your VBS: https://myanswers.com/vbs/manage/10818/users/

Once they accept the invitation and create or log in to their accounts, they will be able to access the digital resources.

Please let me know if you have any more questions or issues!

Virtual VBS

Robin Nadela 4 years ago updated by Arthur L. (Answers in Genesis - Business Analyst) 4 years ago 1

Hi,

Our city is placed under Enhanced Community Quarantine state due to Covid-19 threat but we still wanted to push through our VBS this year via pre-recorded videos and upload them to both our Facebook and YouTube pages so kids can watch them while they are at home.

Will you allow us to do this? Kids had nothing better to do while stuck inside their homes and we believe that by means of social media, we can still share with them great stories from the bible.

We began taking videos of our story tellers, music instructors and others so we can arrange, say Day 1, in one video. We only have one week left to shoot our videos and do our promotions but we need to make sure first that we weren't taking any action without your approval .

Please let us know so we can proceed with this endeavor.

God bless!

Answer

Hi Robin,

Yes, please feel free to continue to video your instructors and get creative with going all-digital. We are in full support of churches taking their VBS online.

In fact, we just launched a free at-home VBS solution to aid churches in doing what you've already started.

https://answersingenesis.org/vbs/incrediworld2020/

It sounds like you are already well invested in the Incredible Race theme, so it may not help you as much, but it's available if you want to use any of it!

T-shirt orders

Kara 4 years ago updated by Arthur L. (Answers in Genesis - Business Analyst) 4 years ago 1

Is there a way that we can have a link or registration for t-shirts on the event page? Just like we do for student and volunteer registration.

Answer

Hello Kara,

We don't currently offer more than the two registration pages, but please feel free to add a t-shirt size information to either or both of those forms. It's a common practice I've seen many churches do. Also, in case you would want to collect funds for the t-shirts, I included info on that process below:

To accept payment when students register, you can include a PayPal or other payment processor link which will be displayed on the confirmation page displayed after registration, as well as the registrant email.

On the Promote page, click the "Edit Student Welcome Email" button. There you will be able to edit the message that appears in the email and the "Thank You" page following registration. If you put full links (including the http:// or https://) in your message, they will appear as clickable links.

Please Note: You will need to keep track of which students have paid. You can create an "admin only" field to track this in VBS Digital Tools. Edit the student form on the "Forms: page in the settings section. Add a field and click the "Hide this field on public registration forms?" option to keep the field from being displayed on the public registration form.

Blessings,

Arthur
