Download all resources for a unit?
Is there any way to just download all the resources for a unit for the age group I want?
Every single time the site updates it gets prettier... but more frustrating to navigate. I just want a folder of the printouts for a whole unit on my computer so I can go week by week and prepare what I need, but now I apparently need to not only go into each lesson individually on the site but sort through every single resource in each lesson individually to figure out which ones I want before I can download them?
It's particularly frustrating that I can't open the individual resources before downloading them. As far as I can see, I now not only have to download a dozen separate files, rather than having the option to download one file and then sort through that week's materials (or better still, download an entire unit's worth of materials in one zipped file), but if I'm not sure what each one is or whether it's useful to me I have to download it, then open it, then decide if I want it, then sort everything into files, for every single piece of material within every single lesson. It increases my prep time immensely.
Edit: I also apparently can't download all the songs, or even view them all together anymore? I have to sort through every lesson to find the music files, and then download them separately.
Answer
Yes, Yes, and Yes! I was coming here in hopes that someone here had figured out how to download all the PreK resources for the unit 7 I was on. I love Answers in Genesis, but the new website where I must click on 20 separate links per unit to see if I want to use each (or any) downloadable resource is ridiculous (and I didn't even get to the songs!). Having the option to download each resource individually is fine if that's what some people want, but please post a zip link for us so we can download a zip file for the whole unit like we used to do. I'm on Unit 7 (Lessons 61-70) and this is the first time I've had this problem. Because I don't want to be a last minute Sunday School teacher and do a disservice to my kids, I plan an entire unit at once, so 20 clicks x 10 lessons...it's been a long evening. Progress isn't progress with this newest site update. If someone out there is listening, please change this back!
Hello Emily and Jennifer,
Thank you for your feedback! I understand the convenience involved with being able to download all the files at once, however, we have many users that don't have fast/stable internet connections, which makes downloading all the resources at once difficult, if not impossible. For that reason, we have split out the downloads so that people are able to only download what they need, and in smaller pieces.
We have retained the older ABC Resources page here: https://myanswers.com/edu/resources/v1/, where you can still download the full lesson content in a .zip file. We are discussing ways to incorporate complete downloads into the new resources page (https://myanswers.com/edu/resources/), but I don't have anything definitive to share as of yet.
Blessings,
Arthur
Thank you!! I do understand some people needing individual downloads and was sure there was a way to do the "one and done" download as I'd done in the past. I just couldn't figure it out, but I have bookmarked the hyperlink you supplied so I can use it in the future when I open new units. I appreciate your help.
Will this hyperlink work for lessons beyond Unit 10? Please have it be so!!!!!
I find it very frustrating that I can no longer download the whole lesson at one time! It is very inconvenient and time consuming to sort through each. When I do download they are not named per lesson either so when I download them I don't know which file is from the correct lesson that I need for the week.....HELP! Please always have an option to download the whole folder. I am unable to stream when at church so I need to be able to download at home.
Hi Karen, yes, we have no plans to change the format past Unit 10. You can still download the complete lesson files from the old page here: https://myanswers.com/edu/resources/v1/. We will be adding the ability to download the full lessons to the new page at a future date, as well as the complete unit printables files and the Bryan Osborne videos, among other content.
Blessings,
Arthur
