Answer

Hello April,

We apologize for the inconvenience; In our original printing, the Unit 4 code was sent instead of the Unit 5 code. The correct Unit 5 Resources access code is RP05VIB.

Also, the Unit 5 PreK Music access code is PM05VIB and the Unit 5 Verse Music access code is VM05VIB.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

Sunday School

Galhahn 5 years ago updated by Roger P. (Answers in Genesis - ABC Content) 5 years ago 1

I need suggestions on how to best break up these lessons without losing the quality and order of the curriculum. We are struggling with giving so much content to the students that the quality of class time is being hindered just trying to 'get through' lessons to keep up on a schedule. We would like to allow for more time talking about God's authority in apologetics but not miss the key to the gospel message, the good news, Jesus Christ.

Answer

Thank you for using ABC! The lessons are content rich, and it is important to slow down or take it in smaller chunks to have time for discussion with your students.

One way to break up the content is to use the lesson headings in the Studying God’s Word/Lesson Time as separate lessons. There are usually 2-3 sections per lesson marked with headings. You may choose to cover one section in the lesson one week, then teach the next section in the same lesson the following week. This should give you more time for discussion and review.

Another idea is to simplify the lesson by highlighting key points, passages, or questions you want to cover or discuss with the students and skip other sections or passages.

Video mislabeled and repeated

revman1964 5 years ago updated by Scott T. (Answers in Genesis - Web Development) 5 years ago 1

Unit 2, Lesson 14, High School - the "uniqueness of man - His feet and hands," and "the uniqueness of man - his expression and soul" are both the feet and hands video - except one is longer than the other.

Missing video?

revman1964 5 years ago updated 5 years ago 2

The "Kinds" video is still missing from the Unit 2, lesson 14, High school - despite an answer I found below saying this was fixed 2 years ago...

Answer

Sorry about that--I checked on all the other Lesson 14 downloads and High School was the only group that we missed adding the video. We'll get the video added to the High School file, but in the meantime, you can download any of the other Lesson 14's and they will have the video.

Why are there videos for the ESV curriculum but not KJV?

jamie pieszala 5 years ago updated by Roger P. (Answers in Genesis - ABC Content) 5 years ago 1

I had ordered the free month in ESV and i loved it and so did my church. However they decided to go with the KJV version of it.  The ESV version came with videos and great memory verse music and videos but the KJV comes with no videos and honestly crappy music with no video for the kids.  Why is that?  Why is the ESV Curriculum made to be so much nicer than the KJV?  There are plenty of churches that still use the KJV translation and it is sad that only the ESV curriculum comes with extra videos and great music. Please consider doing the same nice job in the KJV as you do in the ESV. The Churches who us the KJV curriculum should not have less and the ones that use the ESV. It is not fair to the sunday schools that use KJV to not have the same video resources as those who use the ESV. Especially when it comes the the memory verse music.  Thank you.

Answer

Jamie,

Thank you for choosing ABC for your church and for offering your comment.

As we consider our customer base, we offer VBS and Sunday school materials in ESV with adapted forms for those who prefer or only use the KJV. The vast majority of those churches would not use music that includes modern instruments and arrangements or videos like we offer with the ESV, so we offer more traditional music for them. As an example, one of the memory verse songs was recently posted on our Facebook page and received the comment "Horrible. Secular music." In my experience, this is the common attitude among those churches who would use the KJV, though yours is obviously different.

We do not have the resources to make multiple music versions for each translation, and we only offer the ESV and KJV materials and music. So we can't justify spending the money to create things that will not be used or purchased. We do try to be good stewards of the resources that many give to support our ministry, and we do not believe it would be a good use of that money to make videos and songs that only a handful would use.

I hope you understand, and I do hope ABC will be a blessing to your church family for many years.

If you have other comments or questions, we are glad to hear them. You can contact us directly at abccurriculum@answersingenesis.org (though this forum is best for technical issues).
