why is there nothing in the middle of my screen on the dashboard?

I was told to make or change my password and I did, signed out and back in and have refreshed the computer.  I have signed in on my phone and I am having the same issue.  Nothing is showing up and I only have Library, setting and help on the far left side.  I was able to see the task list earlier today and checked things off and now I can't find it anywhere.
