Why do the verse slides for unit 8 not have the verses on them?

Micky Summerville Jr 4 years ago updated by Arthur L. (Answers in Genesis - Business Analyst) 4 years ago 4

I'm using the KJV curriculum. In Unit 8, I've noticed that the verse slides do not have the verses on them. Is there a reason for this? Is this what they are going to be like from now on?

Hi Micky, I heard back from our curriculum team and have a response for you!

"Starting with Unit 8 KJV and Unit 9 ESV, we do not include the verses in the PPT for Adult and High School. This was done because the upper grades generally read long passages and sometimes entire chapters, which makes the PPT tedious to create and to flip through during class. Also, our intention is that students will be bringing their own Bibles to class and get used to reading from their own Bibles, which negates the need for the verses on the PPT. We included the references so that can be displayed to help students find the passages, but then they can read from the text. This is also important because we often refer to context, which will not be available if students are reading from the slides, and ask questions that refer back to the passage.

Middle School is inconsistent, because we did not include verses in KJV Unit 8, but then decided to go ahead and include them in Unit 9 and forward. At some point, I’ll try to update that one for consistency.

The PPT files are entirely editable, so he can always copy the verses in himself if he needs them."

Please let me know if you have any more questions or issues!

Blessings,

Arthur

Hi Micky,

We're looking into this; it appears the verse text was incorrectly removed. What age groups did you notice the verse text was removed for?

Thanks,

Arthur

It actually looks like they have been removed from all of the age groups I've look at and in every lesson I've opened for this unit.
